Self-catering in the Madeira Islands is simple, inexpensive and enables you to be as independent as you like.
Portuguese is the native tongue and English is widely spoken by the helpful and friendly Madeiran people.
Direct flights operate between London and Funchal on a daily basis and from most regional UK airports on an increasingly frequent basis. The flying time is approximately 3.5 hours.
We suggest you hire a car so that you can explore and discover the magic Madeira really has to offer.

us:
Judith Hughes-Lewis and Clare Dias
Judith has worked in administration, hospitality, marketing and PR. She moved to Madeira with her husband in 2002 and established Island Homes Rentals in Dec 2004. As a military wife for many years she has experienced long periods of living in rented accommodation, both in UK and overseas, and understands what is required to make your holiday rental run smoothly.
Clare is from UK and has worked in the tourism sector for 17 years, of which 15 years have been spent on Madeira. She is a minefield of information on the island and is happy to assist guests and advise how they can best enjoy their holiday. She can arrange tours around the island, levada and mountain guided walks, boat trips (including dolphin and whale watching), jeep safaris and Casino Show nights. Clare joined Judith in 2007 to handle rental bookings for the Funchal and Garajau areas
